A look back at a 1996 speech by Miep Gies, a protector of Anne Frank.
Marcia Franklin takes a look back at a 1996 speech of Miep Gies, who helped hide the Frank family for two years. Gies also saved Anne’s diary after the family was deported in August 1944. Anne died in Bergen-Belsen in March, 1945, just two months before it was liberated. Also includes comments from Cor Suijk, the former director of the Anne Frank House, and Hannah Pick-Goslar, a friend of Anne’s.
