[ Cheers and applause ] Some soap.
I prefer... water lily... rejuvenating hand-washing.
[ Crickets chirp ] You can use dish soap.
If you're a dove.
Okay?
Whatever you prefer.
So, your first step, simply, of course... some soap.
We're then gonna use some medium lukewarm water.
Seems about right.
And our first step is, we're gonna rub... Oh, I'm gonna turn the water off because I don't want to waste it.
But we're gonna rub our hands together.
[ Upbeat music plays ] And then we're never want to forget the top of our hands.
Right?
A lot of us don't think that we have to watch the top of our hands.
But this is important, as well.
The germs are there.
So... I like to scrub up to my wrists, about.
Okay.
Now I know you've all heard, "Sing 'Happy Birthday' twice.
Sing 'A-B-Cs' twice."
>> Happy birthday!
>> Whatever you have to do.
Just make sure that you're getting in between your fingers.
[ Whistles ] Okay?
Another awesome tip -- a lot of us don't do this -- we want to take our fingertips, and we want to rub it into the soap that's on our palms, because underneath your fingernails is germs, boys and girls.
A lot of germs.
Both hands, fingertips, rubbing against the soap in different directions to really make sure it gets underneath our fingernails.
Okay?
Now, I like to do a final run-through.
Make sure everything's lathered up.
All the way to my wrist.
Did you know that surgeons scrub all the way up to here, almost up to their elbows, to make sure that any lingering germs do not get in contact with the person they're working on?
So, my hands are pretty soapy.
Okay?
Which is awesome.
And that's perfect.
Oh, my goodness.
Guess what I forgot.
My thumbs!
We never want to forget our thumbs.
Okay?
It might be a little weird, might feel a little awkward, because I know a lot of you when you wash your hands, you just do this and then you go.
No.
Don't forget yours thumbs.
Good.
Now I'm gonna turn the water back on it.
And I'm going to simply rinse... ...all the soap away.
Great.
Now, what I like to do is turn the water off with a rag or anything -- paper towel -- because you know what?
There's actually germs on our faucet, as well.
So, dry our hands real nice.
[ Humming ] Awesome.
We're getting between our fingertips, and we are... ...good to go.
Keep washing your hands the proper way, boys and girls.
Keep it up.
Stay healthy.
Anything you touch can have germs on it.
As you saw the minute I touched that pepper, the germs were on my finger.
The minute I use the soap, the germs disappeared.
So, very important.
Any time you touch anything, especially in the house, wash your hands.
Before you touch your face, wash your hands, okay?
Any time before you're gonna eat, make sure those hands are nice and clean.
Take it easy, guys.
Miss O out.
