Some shore towns got a head start on Memorial Day Weekend by opening their beaches early.

Gov. Phil Murphy says New Jersey beaches can reopen on Memorial Day weekend with safe social distancing, but some towns got a head start Friday. In Belmar and Point Pleasant Beach, visitors spread out beach blankets under the watchful eye of police patrols who made sure everyone stayed 6 feet apart.
