Laurita and Lauren explore Harpers Ferry's influential role in American history.

During their trip to Harpers Ferry, Laurita and Lauren explore the town's influential role in American history. On October 16, 1859, abolitionist John Brown launched a raid on the federal arsenal in Harpers Ferry. He hoped to capture the 100,000 weapons and use them in a war, which would free slaves in the south. Today the event -- and John Brown's story -- lives on at the Harpers Ferry NHP.
