Should Idaho vote to rescind the 17th Amendment?
Delegates at the Constitutional Convention voted to let state legislators elect U.S. Senators. But that changed in the early 1900s, when Idaho's Senator William Borah helped pass the 17th Amendment, which calls for direct election of U.S. Senators.
