Oregon Art Beat
TBA Festival: Jesse Sugarmann
Clip: Season 13 Episode 1301 | 2m 34sVideo has Closed Captions
Find out why artist Jesse Sugarmann likes to put vintage cars in precarious positions.
When you hear artist Jesse Sugarmann describe his work as “slow motion accidents” you might think of something more spectacular than vintage automobiles rising slowing into the air. But Sugarmann’s objective isn’t carnage, it’s celebration. He takes objects that people normally look at as junk and turns them into what he calls “unexpected monuments.”
