The intriguing story of Toshio Mori, the author of “Yokohama, California.”

Toshio Mori was a Japanese-American nurseryman in California whose dream was to become a published author. That dream was deferred during World War II when he, along with nearly 120,000 people of Japanese descent, were incarcerated simply for their ethnic heritage. Ultimately Caxton Press in Caldwell, Idaho published his book of short stories, “Yokohama, California,” which is widely studied.
