Sixth graders create radial art designs to make a beautiful quilt for their school raffle.
Sixth grade students created radial art designs with their initials and names. Maria DeGroot, a school volunteer, helped the students make these beautiful designs into an appliquéd medallions quilt. The quilt was used as a raffle item to raise money for their school. In the process of creating designs, the students learned to use a new medium—fabric—plus they learned about the art of quilting.
